Oneonta Tops Women's Basketball, 55-41

BUFFALO, NY—Oneonta (3-1/1-1) never trailed en route to a 55-41 victory over Buffalo State (2-3/0-1) tonight in a SUNYAC women’s basketball contest at the Sports Arena.

Oneonta opened the game on a 13-3 run and never looked back as the Bengals were unable to come closer than six points the rest of the way. The Red Dragons limited Buffalo State to just five first-half field goals, while hitting 15-of-33, despite leading just 34-27. Buffalo State finished the game 8-of-44 from the field, while the Red Dragons were 22-of-57.

Ann Marie Faia led Oneonta with 11 points and six rebounds. Gabrielle Doemel tallied 10 points, and Allie Sullivan added eight points and a game-high 12 rebounds. Jacey Brooks (Machias/Franklinville) led Buffalo State with 16 points and nine rebounds. Darnika Moseley (Liverpool/Liverpool) added eight points and five boards for the Bengals.

Buffalo State will host SUNYAC-rival New Paltz tomorrow at 2 p.m.
