OSWEGO, NY—Dante Griggs (Chester/Chester Acad.) and Dion Mozelle (Rego Park/Xaverian) both had double-doubles for Buffalo State (12-12/7-9), but the Bengals lost to host Oswego (14-11/10-6), 77-69, in the regular season finale tonight at Ziel Gymnasium.

Griggs scored 17 points and grabbed 13 rebounds off the bench, and Mozelle had 14 points and 11 rebounds. John Lawal (Hempstead/Uniondale) added 10 points and six boards.

Mat Burridge led Oswego with 22 points and 10 rebounds, and Erik Roberson scored 18 points.

The game featured six lead changes, all in the opening half that ended 42-33 in favor of Oswego. In the final period, Buffalo State slowly chipped away at the Lakers’ lead and eventually closed the gap to just 70-69 with 1:16 remaining. Oswego scored the final seven points of the game in the closing minute, however, to claim the win.

Buffalo State will enter the SUNYAC playoffs as the No. 7 seed and will travel to No. 2 Plattsburgh for a quarterfinal game on Tuesday at 7 p.m.
