Oswego Tops Women's Basketball, 54-43

BUFFALO, NY—The Oswego frontcourt of Sarah Lombard (Saratoga Springs/Saratoga Springs) and Jessica Tremblay (Colonie/Colonie) combined for 27 points and 21 rebounds, as the Lakers (9-4/5-1) defeated Buffalo State (5-9/2-3), 54-43, tonight in a SUNYAC contest at the Sports Arena.

Oswego overcame an early 10-4 deficit to take a 23-19 advantage into the intermission. Oswego never trailed in the second half, leading by as many as 17, before cruising to the 11-point win. The Lakers shot 40.4-percent from the field, compared to just 28.3-percent shooting by Buffalo State.

Lombard paced the Lakers with 19 points, nine rebounds and three steals. Tremblay added eight points and 12 boards, and Kelly Mraz (Johnstown/Johnstown) had 11 points and two assists.

Darnika Moseley (Liverpool/Liverpool) led Buffalo State with 15 points. Desi Gibson (Rochester/Edison Tech) had 14 points and three steals, and Shareese Hamer (Erie, PA/Strong Vincent) grabbed a career-high 13 rebounds and scored five points.

Buffalo State will travel to conference-rival Brockport on Friday at 6 p.m.
