Paintings Conservation Clinic: August 23

Share
Visitors from across the region are bringing their treasured but damaged paintings to campus today for the Buffalo State Paintings Conservation Clinic in Rockwell Hall.

Paintings, old and new, large and small, will be carefully unwrapped before an expectant crowd gathered round to discuss the painting’s history, its condition, and how it might be treated. Professor and paintings conservator James Hamm will lead the discussion. Several works will remain with the department for treatment and study.

The Paper and Objects Conservation Clinic will be held on Friday, September 17. Members of the campus and the community are invited to bring in their antiques and collectibles for assessment and possible restoration by the department. To make an appointment, please call  (716) 878-5025.
