President Howard Throws Ceremonial Pitch on New Softball Field
Buffalo State President Dr. Muriel Howard officially opened the Bengals' new softball facility by throwing out the ceremonial "first pitch" on Friday, April 18, prior to the Buffalo State's doubleheader against Plattsburgh.
In a brief pregame ceremony, Director of Athletics Jerry Boyes expressed his appreciation to President Howard, Vice President Hal D. Payne, Assistant Design and Construction Coordinator Brian Wittmer, Head Groundskeeper John Moffat and Assistant Athletics Director for Facilities Terry Beattie, for making the construction of the new field a reality. The first official game was a 12-8 victory over Penn State Behrend on March 27.
Buffalo State will wrap up its 2003 home schedule on Sunday, April 27, when it hosts defending national champion Ithaca. Game times are 1 and 3 p.m.
