Buffalo State’s Nadine Sirianni (Niagara Falls/Niagara Falls) and Laurie Hutten (Tonawanda/Kenmore West) were named to the State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC) All-Conference Softball Team today.

Sirianni was named to the All-SUNYAC team for the fourth time in her career. The senior center fielder was the first Bengal to hit over .400 since 1999, leading the team with a .418 batting average. She also led the Bengals with eight doubles and 31 RBIs. A health and wellness major, she added two triples and two homeruns.

Hutten, a sophomore who split time between shortstop and second base, earned the honor for the first time. The team’s leadoff hitter, she finished the season with a .374 batting average and was second on the team behind Sirianni with 52 hits. She led the team with 37 runs scored and 15 stolen bases on 15 attempts. A social work major, she had four doubles, two triples, a home run and 17 RBIs.

Buffalo State matched its highest win total since 2000, finishing with a 29-11 overall record. The Bengals placed fifth in the SUNYAC and went 2-2 in the double elimination conference championship last weekend.
