FT. MYERS, Fla.—Buffalo State (6-2) dropped its opener today to Albright (Pa.), 3-0, but rebounded to defeat Trinity (Conn.), 9-0, in the late game today at the Cape Coral Sports Complex.

In the first game, Albright parlayed six hits and four Bengal errors into all the offense it would need in a 3-0 win. Nicole Sabuda (Orchard Park/Orchard Park) took the loss on the mound, allowing two earned runs while striking out three.

Buffalo State’s bats came alive in the second game as the Bengals belted 13 hits and scored nine runs, including five in the seventh. Freshman Aimee Fisher (Hamburg/Frontier) earned her fourth win and second shutout of the season, surrendering just two hits and fanning five. She also helped herself at the plate with a triple and three RBIs. Lauren Mruk (Lancaster/Lancaster) went 3 for 3 with an RBI. Laurie Hutten (Tonawanda/Kenmore West), Lindsey Matheis (Hamburg/Williamsville South) and Jolene Banach (Cheektowaga/Maryvale) had two hits apiece for the Bengals.
