Spring Dance Concert: A Fantastic Voyage

Share
A Fantastic Voyage, a non-traditional ballet inspired by the music of Earth, Wind, and Fire is this year’s dance production. Conceived, written, and directed by Carlos R.A. Jones, assistant professor, Theater Department, performances will be held in Upton Hall’s Warren Enters Theatre, April 27-29, at 8:00 p.m. and April 30, at 2:00 p.m. and 8:00 p.m.

This faculty-choreographed ballet tells the story of the Sacred Four–four siblings who each possess the ability to manipulate one of the four natural elements: earth, wind, fire, and water. On their twentieth birthdays, the siblings fully develop their powers and restore harmony to their galaxy. However, the Sacred Four must first endure many trials and tribulations before peace is secured.

Tickets are $15 general admission, $10 for faculty, staff, alumni, seniors and other college students, $5 for Buffalo State students (must be purchased 24 hours in advance), and free for high school students with ID. Tickets can be purchased by visiting the Rockwell Hall or Student Union box office, by calling (716) 878-3005, or by visiting www.buffalostate.edu/theater.

As part of the Give for Greatness campaign, patrons of the Friday, April 29, performance are encouraged to donate an extra $5. The Give for Greatness campaign’s goal is to raise $1 million to benefit Western New York cultural institutions.
