St. John Fisher Sprints Past Women's Basketball, 85-56
St. John Fisher (13-0) remained undefeated, shooting 59-percent from the field on route to an 85-56 road victory over Buffalo State (4-10) tonight at the Sports Arena.
The Cardinals, ranked No. 24 in the nation in the D3hoops.com poll, led 37-29 at halftime, before sprinting to the 29-point victory. The Cardinals overcame 25 turnovers by hitting 33-of-56 from the floor. Buffalo State shot 41-percent, but committed 30 turnovers.
Kelli Nash (Syracuse/W. Genesee) led St. John Fisher with 22 points. Melissa Hartman (Middleville/W. Canada Valley) had 21 points and four steals, and Kathy Baum (Ripley/Ripley) scored 18 points.
Tawan Slaughter (Buffalo/Christian Central) paced Buffalo State with 14 points. Darnika Moseley (Liverpool/Liverpool) and Toya Parks (Brooklyn/MLK) each scored 10 for the Bengals.
Buffalo State will return to SUNYAC play this Friday with a trip to Potsdam.
