Swimming and Diving Teams Fall at Fredonia

FREDONIA, NY--Buffalo State's swimming and diving teams dropped dual meets today at SUNYAC-rival Fredonia, as the men fell 121-102 and the women were defeated 144-99.

On the men's side, Derek Stoklosa (W. Seneca/W. Seneca West) touched first in the 50-yard free with a time of 24.20. Rich Gaczewski (N. Tonawanda/N. Tonawanda) won the 100-yard butterfly in 56.67, and Dave Papke (Woodlawn/St. Francis) claimed the 100-yard breast in 1:03.56. Stoklosa, Gaczewski and Papke also teamed with Mike Luther (Hamburg/Frontier) to win the 200-yard medley relay in 1:44.65.

On the women's side, Kelly Stoklosa (W. Seneca/W. Seneca West) won the 100-yard breast in 1:10.47, just .08 seconds shy of a school record. Sara Weinert (S. Byron/Byron-Bergen) was victorious in the 500-yard with a time of 5:34.96. Susan Stiner (Niagara Falls/Niagara Falls) won the 200-yard free in 2:08.80. Stiner and Weinert also won the 200-yard free relay with Megan Farrell (Akron/Akron) and Sarah Garasz (Lancaster/Lancaster) with a time of 1:49.69.

Buffalo State will swim at Oswego next Saturday at 1 p.m.
