Swimming & Diving Loses to Oswego; Warner Sets New Record

BUFFALO, NY--Miranda Warner (Elmira/Horseheads) set a new Buffalo State record with a time of 1:03.84 in the 100 yard backstroke, but the Bengals dropped their final home meet of the season as the women’s team lost 150-130, while the men were defeated, 155-133.

On the women’s side, the 200 yard medley relay team of Warner, Karli Bender (Orchard Park/Mt. Mercy), Meg Farrell (Akron/Akron) and Caitlin Morsch (Avon/Avon) won in a time of 2:00.04. Also winning for the Bengals was Amanda Dory (Amherst/Sweet Home) off the 1-meter board with a score of 233.05.

Kevin Buisman (Penfield/Penfield) and Kyle Benedict (Elmira Heights/Horseheads) took the top two spots in the 100 yard breaststroke, with times of 1:05.89 and 1:05.99, respectively, while Scott Banks (N. Tonawanda/Niagara Wheatfield) touched first in the 100 yard butterfly (59.57).

Oswego’s Kevin Morgan (Livonia) set a new conference record off the 1-meter board with a score of 328.65, while the women’s team set three new pool records.

Buffalo State will be back in action next Saturday, competing in its final dual meet of the season at Brockport at 1 p.m.
