Track and Field Teams Host Clinic For Local Youth

Buffalo State's track and field teams hosted a free clinic on Thursday in the Sports Arena for 65 students from the City of Buffalo Schools grades four through eight.

Head Coach Eugene Lewis and several Bengals' student-athletes introduced the sport of track and field to the youngsters and taught different techniques in the various events.

"Our purpose was to introduce the sport of track and field to the kids," Lewis said. "Many of the kids from the city schools have not been exposed to track and field and are not familiar with the opportunities to compete in the sport scholastically and beyond."

Buffalo State recently completed its indoor season and will begin its outdoor campaign at the University of Maryland Invitational on April 1.
