Track & Field Runs Again at Mt. Union Invitational

ALLIANCE, OH—Buffalo State’s indoor track and field teams were in action for a second-consecutive day today, running at the Mt. Union Invitational. The men placed fourth of nine teams, and the women finished fifth of 11.

Willie Hordge (Buffalo/ Forestbrook TX) won 55-meter dash with an NCAA provisional qualifying time of 6.39 seconds. Willie Jones (Cheektowaga/Amherst) won the high jump (1.93m), Tim Diegelman (Clarence/ Clarence) won the long jump (6.79m), and Ray Shadowens (Troup, TX/ Arp) won the 55-meter hurdles (7.89). Maurice Little (Newburgh/ Newburgh) was second in the 500-meter dash (1:10.66), followed by Shilah Richardson (Auburn/ Auburn) in third (1:11.46). Xavier Mateen (New Rochelle/ New Rochelle) added a third-place showing in the 300-meter dash (36.91).

Toya Edwards (Brooklyn/ Clara Barton) was second in the 500-meter run for the women in 1:23.34. LaVonne Barfield (Rochester/Wilson Magnet) was second in the long jump (5.27m), and Sharesa Baldwin (Brooklyn/ Clara Barton) was second in the triple jump (10.89m). Tiffany Aaron (Rochester/ Wilson Magnet) crossed third (7.45) in the 55-meter dash. Dana Migliorino (Wayne, NJ/Wayne Valley) set a new school record in the pole vault (2.79m), finishing eighth.

Buffalo State will compete next Friday at Baldwin-Wallace.
