Buffalo State's second-year football coach Bob Swank will welcome his first recruiting class to training camp beginning this Wednesday. Swank and the Bengals will attempt to return the program to national prominence one-year after suffering the team's first losing season since 1989.



Buffalo State has established itself as one of the most successful Division III football programs in the nation since 1990. The Bengals have posted an 86-38 (.694) record during that span and have made seven trips to the NCAA playoffs and claimed three ECAC Bowl titles. In addition, 15 individuals have captured All-America status.



The Bengals have earned the respect of the authorities in Division III, as the team has been accustomed to appearing in the national top-25 polls, and played the strongest schedule in all of Division III in 2001, as voted by D3Football.com. Things will not get any easier this season as Buffalo State will face the same nine opponents plus a tenth game at Case Western Reserve.



Players are scheduled to report to training camp this Wednesday, August 14, for meetings, and will begin practicing on the field on Friday. The tentative practice schedule for training camp is:

The practice fields are located on the south side of campus off of Rockwell Road.
