Two Football Players Earn Weekly Honors
Two Buffalo State players were recognized by the Atlantic Central Football Conference (ACFC) for their efforts in a 16-9 win over Frostburg this past Saturday. David Barabas (Cheektowaga/W. Seneca East) was named the league‘s Defensive Player of the Week, and Mike Potter (Allegany/Salamanca) was dubbed the Special Teams Player of the Week.
Barabas, a junior defensive end, made eight total tackles, including 5.5 behind the line of scrimmage for a loss of 16 yards and 2.5 sacks for 13 yards. He has 20 tackles on the season, and leads the team with 11.0 for a loss of 30 yards. He is second on the team with 3.5 sacks.
Potter, a senior defensive back, blocked a punt with 8:50 left in the game, returning it to the five-yard line to set up a touchdown. He also set up Buffalo State‘s field goal earlier in the game returning an interception 48 yards to the Frostburg State 10.
Buffalo State will host undefeated Salisbury this Saturday at Coyer Field at 1 p.m.
