Prospective students have the opportunity to discover all that Buffalo State can offer during the Fall Open House, Saturday, October 29.
From 9:00 a.m. to noon, visitors can tour the campus, meet with the faculty, learn about academic programs and student support services, and discuss financial aid opportunities.
“We are big believers in students finding the right ‘fit’ for their college education,” noted Mary Finger, admissions adviser. “Visiting Open House will hopefully assist students in finding out if Buffalo State is the right fit for them. We try to make as much of the campus available to our visitors to help them get a true perspective of what the college is all about.”
Visitors start out in the Sports Arena's lower level for refreshments and the beginning of the campus tour. Buffalo State students will conduct tours every 15 minutes, with each one lasting approximately 45 minutes. At the same time, faculty will be available to speak with prospective students and their parents at information tables spread throughout the arena.
"More departments seem to be offering programming in their own areas this year, in addition to the information tables," Finger said.
Open House visitors also have the chance to attend an admissions presentation—running every 30 minutes beginning at 9:00 and running until 11:30 a.m. in Moot Hall 113. Financial aid presentations will be held at 10:00 and 11:00 a.m. in Classroom Building C122.
The Admissions Office is expecting approximately 1,000 guests, including family members. Students who wish to attend the Fall Open House need to pre-register by going online or calling (716) 878-5713.
