UPD Safety Advisory UPDATE: December 10, 2011
A resident female student reported to University Police that an unidentified male approached and grabbed her December 10 at approximately 2:30 a.m. off campus in the area of the Buffalo Psychiatric Center as she was walking back to Buffalo State’s campus. According to the student, the male was wearing a black hooded sweatshirt, pants and boots. There were no witnesses. If you have any details that may be of assistance, please contact Buffalo State’s University Police at 878-6333. This is the second incident within the past week in which a student has been approached and grabbed by a male in a dark hooded sweatshirt.
University Police reminds all members of the campus community to be aware of their surroundings at all times. It is always a good idea to have a companion with you, especially when commuting in the evenings and early mornings.
University Police’s safe escort programs provide a walking companion or a ride on campus free of charge to all students, faculty, and staff. A personal escort to your car or residence hall can be requested by calling University Police at ext. 6333 (878-6333) from a campus or blue-light phone.

A female student reported to University Police that she was grabbed by the wrist and touched through her clothing by a male assailant at approximately 2:30 a.m. on Friday, December 2, on the west side of the Campbell Student Union. According to the victim, an unknown male stepped out from behind a pillar by the main doors and grabbed her. The suspect was wearing a black sweatshirt with a hood pulled down over his face, jeans, and dark-colored footwear. The suspect also appeared to be right-handed, approximately 5 foot 7 inches, and muscular. The victim was unsure of the assailant’s race. There were no witnesses, and no medical attention was required. The victim did not report the incident until about 12 hours later.
