Volleyball Drops Two at North Country Invitational
Buffalo State (0-7) lost to Plattsburgh and Roberts Wesleyan tonight in Potsdam to open the North Country Invitational.
Plattsburgh defeated the Bengals 30-26, 30-21 and 30-20 in the opener. Jen Breier (Grand Island/Grand Island) led the offense for Buffalo State with 11 kills. Sam Damstetter (W. Seneca/W. Seneca East) had 15 digs and three aces, and Nicole Gurski (E. Amherst/Williamsville North) had 24 assists and seven digs.
In the nightcap, Roberts Wesleyan claimed victory, 30-16, 31-33, 30-13 and 30-11. Breier had 16 kills and Gurski recorded 30 assists and six digs.
Buffalo State will play in the bronze pool against St. Lawrence and either Oswego or Middlebury tomorrow to close out the North Country Invitational.
