Volleyball Falls to Brockport, Geneseo in Pool Play
Buffalo State finally opened its SUNYAC schedule today with the first round of SUNYAC Pool Play at Brockport, falling 3-0 to the host school and 3-1 to Geneseo.
In the first match, Brockport won 30-20, 30-9 and 30-28. The Bengals were led by Lauren Wright (Westfield/Westfield) with 16 assists and three aces, and Jen Breier (Grand Island/Grand Island) added nine kills.
In the second match, Buffalo State lost to Geneseo, 17-30, 27-30, 30-28 and 17-30. Sam Damstetter (W. Seneca/W. Seneca East) paced the Bengals with 11 kills and 13 digs, while Wright dished out 33 assists.
Buffalo State fell to 1-16 overall and started 0-2 in conference play. The Bengals will face Oswego and Fredonia tomorrow.
