Volleyball Falls Twice at Red Dragon Classic

Buffalo State opened the 2005 season against a pair of perennial powers at the Cortland Red Dragon Classic, falling to the host and Nazareth in straight game matches.

In the opener, Cortland defeated the Bengals, 30-18, 30-9 and 30-8. Keri Bumgardner (Babylon/W. Babylon) led the Bengals with three kills and four aces.

Nazareth topped the Bengals in the second match, 30-10, 30-20 and 30-13. Jen Breier (Grand Island/Grand Island) had seven kills and four blocks and Bumgardner had five kills and six digs for Buffalo State.

The Bengals open the season 0-2 and wrap up the Cortland Classic tomorrow in the Bronze Bracket.
