Wassinger, Jacobsen Score at University of Maryland Terrapin Outdoor Track and Field Invitational
COLLEGE PARK, Md. --Buffalo State's outdoor track and field teams got a taste of the "big time" today, opening their season at the Division I University of Maryland Terrapin Invitational.
Competing against the likes of Maryland, Syracuse, West Virginia, Penn, Rutgers, Temple and more, two Bengals captured top finishes in their respective events. Todd Wassinger (Sanborn/Starpoint) placed eighth in the shot put with a throw of 14.51 meters. Liz Jacobsen (Gresham, OR/Sam Barlow) added an eighth place showing in the women's javelin, with a distance of 36.12 meters. Sarah Gedraitis (Lockport/Akron) broke her own record in the hammer throw with a distance of 33.09 meters.
Buffalo State will face a stiff challenge again next Saturday at the University of Miami (Ohio) Invitational.
