Women's Basketball Ends Skid at SUNYIT

UTICA, NY—Darnika Moseley’s (Liverpool/Liverpool) 15 points and 11 rebounds helped Buffalo State (2-4/1-2) end a four-game losing skid with a 65-56 victory over host SUNYIT (1-4/0-2) in a SUNYAC contest today in Utica.

Buffalo State closed the first half on an 11-2 run to take a 34-24 lead into the intermission. SUNYIT battled back in the second stanza and took led 53-51 with 5:14 remaining, but Buffalo State a 14-2 run down the stretch to clinch the victory.

Moseley’s double-double was the ninth of her career. Freshman Shareese Hamer (Erie, Pa/Strong Vincent) joined Moseley with 15 points and grabbed seven rebounds. Cat Ejimadu (Buffalo/Bennett) added 11 points, and Toya Parks (Brooklyn/MLK) scored nine.

Stephanie Stokes led the Wildcats with 13 points and 14 boards. Kieran Burns added 13 points, and Laura Giancone had 12 points and eight rebounds.

Buffalo State will compete at the Penn State Behrend Invitational next weekend, opening the tourney against Thomas More on Friday at 6 p.m.
