Women's Basketball Pulls Away From Plattsburgh, 67-51

BUFFALO, NY—Darnika Moseley (Liverpool/Liverpool) and Jacey Brooks (Machias/Franklinville) combined for 37 points in Buffalo State’s 67-51 victory over Plattsburgh in a SUNYAC contest tonight at the Sports Arena.

The Cardinals opened up a 24-13 lead midway through the opening half, but the Bengals (7-11/4-5) mounted a 16-7 run to close the half down just two points. Buffalo State sprinted out of the intermission with a 13-3 run and never let Plattsburgh closer than seven the rest of the way.

Moseley shot 7-of-10 from the field and had her sixth career double-double with 18 points and 11 rebounds. Brooks scored a game-high 19 points and grabbed seven boards. Toya Parks (Brooklyn/MLK) added 12 points and Tawan Slaughter (Buffalo/Christian Central) had nine for the Bengals.

Laura Phillips (Plattsburgh/Plattsburgh) led Plattsburgh with 15 points and 10 rebounds. Rene Klementowski (Scotia/Scotia-Glenville) added 11 points and seven boards.

The Bengals will host SUNYIT tomorrow at 2 p.m.
