Women's Basketball Pulls Away From SUNYIT, 70-56

BUFFALO, NY—Buffalo State (9-16/6-10) and SUNYIT (5-19/1-15) combined to commit 56 turnovers in the Bengals’ 70-56 home victory today, in the SUNYAC regular season finale at the Sports Arena.

Buffalo State used an 8-0 run late in the first half to take a 32-25 lead into the intermission. The Bengals carried that momentum after the break, opening the second stanza with a 9-0 run, and the Wildcats never cut the deficit to less than 10 points the rest of the way. Buffalo State converted 29 SUNYIT turnovers into 36 points.

Darnika Moseley (Liverpool/Liverpool) led the Bengals with 16 points and 13 rebounds. Tammie Lentz (Erie, PA/Central) added 12 points and seven boards, and Shareese Hamer (Erie, PA/Strong Vincent) had 11 points and nine boards. Toya Parks (Brooklyn/MLK) and Cat Ejimadu (Buffalo/Bennett) added 10 points apiece.

Stephanie Stokes (Watertown/Watertown) paced the Wildcats with 15 points and four steals. Kim Reisman (Baldwinsville/CW Baker) had 13 points, and Hillary Pundt (Skaneateles/Skaneateles) added 10.

Buffalo State clinched the seventh-seed in the SUNYAC playoffs and will travel to No. 2 Oswego on Tuesday for a 6 p.m. quarterfinal tip-off.
