Women's Basketball Topped at Ithaca, 71-61
Buffalo State was outrebounded 47-32, as it fell to Ithaca, 71-61, at the Ben Light Gymnasium in Ithaca tonight.
The game went back-and-forth for much of the night as the score was tied on 12 separate occasions. The Bengals led by as many as four points early in the second half, but the Bombers used a 10-2 run midway through the final stanza to claim the lead for good.
Junior Jacey Brooks (Machias/Franklinville) led the Bengals with 20 points and five rebounds. She surpassed the 500-point mark for her career with 509. Tawan Slaughter (Buffalo/Christian Central) added 10 points and five assists, and Ashley DeVaughn (Williamsville/Williamsville East) scored eight points.
Buffalo State is now 2-2 and will open conference play on Friday when it host Oneonta at 6 p.m.
