Women's Diver Nicole Rutkowski
Women's diver Nicole Rutkowski (Williamsville/Williamsville North) was named the Buffalo State Athlete of the Week.
The freshman diver swept the one and three-meter diving events against Division II opponent Gannon on Saturday. Rutkowski registered a score of 241.60 to claim the one-meter competition. On the three-meter, she set a new Buffalo State record with an NCAA provisional qualifying score of 255.20.
Rutkowski now owns the Buffalo State record on both boards, just over midway through her rookie season. She is looking to become the first Bengal female diver to qualify for the national meet since Judy Elliott earned All-America honors on both boards in 1981.
