Women's Hockey Comes Up Empty at Castleton, 4-0

CASTLETON, Vt.—Buffalo State (6-9-1) was unable to light the lamp tonight in a 4-0 non-conference loss at Castleton (5-12-0), despite directing 28 shots at the Spartans’ goal.

Castleton also had 28 shots, scoring once on the power play, once shorthanded, and a pair of even-strength goals. Shannon Anesetti (Canonsburg, PA/Canon-McMillan) made 22 saves for Buffalo State, but allowed three goals in 50 minutes, 40 seconds of play. Rachel Bennett (Howell, MI/Howell) came on in relief, allowing the final goal, while making two saved in nine-plus minutes of action.

The same two teams will meet again tomorrow at 2 p.m.
