Women's Hockey Edges Connecticut College, 2-1

BUFFALO, NY--Jamie Overbeck's (Tonawanda/Kenmore East) goal with 5:05 remaining spurred Buffalo State (4-7-1) to a 2-1 victory over visiting Connecticut College (4-6-2) today at the Ice Arena.

Connecticut opened the scoring with the lone goal of the opening period 13:26 into the contest. Jackie Blanchard (Delmar/Bethlehem) evened the score for the Bengals with her first of the season on the powerplay just 2:32 into the second frame. Blanchard assisted on the game-winner in the third as well.

Shannon Anesetti (Cannonsburg, PA/Caron-McMillan) made 22 saves between the pipes for the victory.

Buffalo State will host Connecticut again tomorrow at 2 p.m.
