Women's Hockey Explodes Past Brockport, 18-0

Eleven different Bengals scored in an 18-0 victory over the club team of Brockport in an exhibition game at the Ice Arena this afternoon.

Freshman Mary Cohen (Ann Arbor, MI/Pioneer) led the way, scoring four goals and one assist. Sophomore Jamie Overbeck (Tonawanda/Kenmore East) and freshman Jessica Thieme (Roselle, IL/Lake Park) each recorded three goals. Other goal scorers for the Bengals included juniors Tara Ostempowski (Lancaster/Lancaster), Nicole Jewell (Fenton, MI) and Jen Trees (Clear Lake, IA/Clear Lake). Sophomore Courtney Wagner (Connellsville, PA/Connellsville) and freshmen Jackie Blanchard (Delmar/Bethlehem), Linda Mleczko (San Carlos, CA/Carlmont), Leah Eyerman (Mountaintop, PA/Wyoming Seminary) and Sarah Kelly (Portland, ME/Tilton School) also added points for the Bengals. Junior Amanda Uschold (Rochester/Brighton) was credited with five assists while Eyerman tallied four helpers.

The Bengals return to the ice next Saturday and Sunday when they host Utica for a pair of ECAC West games. Game times set for 4 p.m. and 1 p.m. respectively.
