Women's Hockey Loses at Connecticut College, 4-1
NEW LONDON, Conn.—Connecticut College (5-6-1) completed to weekend sweep over visiting Buffalo State (4-8-1) with a 4-1 non-conference victory today.
The Camels took a 3-0 lead early in the second period, before Sarah Rittberg (Laguna Hills, CA/Laguna Hills) scored her first collegiate goal with assists from Mary Cohen (Ann Arbor, MI/Pioneer) and Sam Simpson (Fairbanks, AK/West Valley) to get the Bengals on the scoreboard. Conn College added an insurance goal in the third period to clinch the victory.
Buffalo State was outshot 47-18. Shannon Anesetti (Canonsburg, PA/Canon-McMillan) made 43 saves for the Bengals.
Buffalo State will return to conference play with a road contest on Friday at Cortland.
