Women's Hockey Skates to 1-1 Draw at Salve Regina
MIDDLETOWN, RI—Buffalo State (4-6-1) extended its unbeaten streak to four games with a 1-1 tie at Salve Regina (2-10-1) today at the St. George’s School Ice Center.
Buffalo State outshot the Seahawks 13-4 in the opening period, but was unable to light the lamp. Casey Bull (Lockport, NY/Lockport) finally broke the scoreless tie in the second frame with an assist from Melissa Jeckovich (Niagara Falls, NY/Niagara Falls), but Salve Regina netted a power-play goal midway through the third to knot the score.
Buffalo State held a 30-20 advantage in shots for the game. Shannon Anesetti (Canonsburg, PA/Canon-McMillan) made 19 saves for the Bengals.
Buffalo State will visit Connecticut College on Friday for the first of a two-game set at 7 p.m.
