Women's Hockey Ties St. Mary's, 3-3
Buffalo State rallied from a two-goal deficit to pull out a 3-3 tie against St. Mary's (MN) today at the Ice Arena.
St. Mary's scored the lone goal of the first period, but Buffalo State evened the score at 1-1 midway through the second period when Tara Ostempowski (Lancaster) scored a powerplay goal. The Cardinals added a pair of second period goals to take a 3-1 lead, but the Jamie Overbeck (Kenmore East) lit the lamp for the Bengals with 47 remaining in the period to bring Buffalo State to within a goal. Emma Wadsworth (Arlington, VA) netted the equalizer at the 9:25 mark of the third period. Mary Keddie (Williamsville North) made 36 saves for Buffalo State, and Nicole Jewell (Fenton, MI) chipped in two assists.
Buffalo State is now 2-17-2 on the season. The Bengals next game will be on February 21, when they host Cortland for a 2 p.m. face-off.
