Women's Hockey Wins Opener at Southern Maine, 3-0
Buffalo State (1-0) used a pair of power play goals to earn a 3-0 victory at Southern Maine in today's season opener.
Mary Cohen (Ann Arbor, MI/Pioneer), Melissa Jeckovich (Niagara Falls/Niagara Falls) and Jessica Thieme (Roselle, IL/Lake Park) all scored for Buffalo State. Shannon Anesetti (Cannonsburg, PA/Caron-McMillan) made 20 saves for the shutout as Buffalo State outshot Southern Maine 34-20.
The same two teams will do battle in Southern Maine again tomorrow at 1 p.m.
