Women's Hoops Loses to Brockport, 65-50

BUFFALO, NY—Jessica Welch (Palmyra/Palmyra-Macedon) scored 22 points to lead visiting Brockport (6-14/5-7) past Buffalo State (10-10/8-3), 65-50, tonight at the Sports Arena.

Buffalo State led by as many as seven points early in the first half, but Brockport took the lead with 6:22 remaining in the opening stanza and never looked back. The Golden Eagles led 35-27 at the intermission, and never let the Bengals closer than five points in the second half.

Mary Ahrens (Rochester/Gates-Chili) joined Welch in double-figures with 15 points and added 11 rebounds. Meghan Squires (Johnsonville/Hoosic Valley) added eight points and 10 rebounds.

Monique Hanks (Liverpool/Liverpool) led Buffalo State with 18 points and eight rebounds. Darnika Moseley (Liverpool/Liverpool) added 11 points and eight boards, and Desi Gibson (Rochester/Edison Tech) chipped in eight points and a career-high 15 rebounds.
