Women's Hoops Rolls Past Brockport, 72-46

Sophomore Jacey Brooks (Machias/Franklinville) led five Bengals in double-figures with a team-high 14 points as Buffalo State deafeated host Brockport 72-46 tonight at Tuttle Arena.

The Bengals, who never trailed, took a 35-24 lead into the intermission, and pulled away in the second half. Brockport shot just 22-percent from the floor, as Buffalo State shot 38-percent from the field and 56-percent from three-point range.

Tawan Slaughter (Buffalo/Christian Central) tallied 13 points and six assists, and Desi Gibson (Rochester/Edison Tech) scored 12 points. Monique Hanks (Liverpool/Liverpool) added 11 points and 15 rebounds, and Marcy Dankevich (Celoron/Southwestern) chipped in 10 points.

Buffalo State improved to 7-8 overall and 5-2 in SUNYAC play. The Bengals will travel to Potsdam and Plattsburgh this Friday and Saturday.
