Women's Lacrosse Cruises Past Cazenovia, 17-5

Buffalo State improved to 8-1 overall today with a 17-5 win over Cazenovia to close out their 2004 home schedule.

After going down a goal in the first two minutes of the game, Buffalo State went on an 8-0 scoring run to capture the lead for the remainder of the game. Junior Annie Tallchief (Perrsberg/Lakeshore) led all scorers with four goals and two assists on the day. Tallchief also controlled eight of the game's 22 draws and collected four ground balls. Leslie Perreault (Johnson City/Maine Endwell) added four goals and an assist to bring her season total to 32 points (23g-9a), good enough to place her in ninth on the Bengal's all-time scoring list. Leah Bernal (E. Aurora, Iroquois) had three goals and an assist and Chelsey Frail (Hilton/East Rochester) tallied a pair of goals and two assists.

Senior defender Andrea Floriano (Tonawanda/Kenmore East) was honored at halftime as the team's lone senior. Floriano finished her home career with a goal in the second half of the game. Bengal attacker Rachel Galus (Hamburg/Frontier) had two goals and an assist, Meagan Powers (Pearl River/Pearl River) registered a goal and an assist, and Tiffany George (Delevan/Pioneer) had an assist on the day.

Buffalo State returns to conference play on Tuesday, when they travel to Geneseo for a 4:00 p.m. game.
