Women's Lacrosse Defeats Brockport in Overtime, 14-13

Buffalo State improved to 2-1 in the SUNYAC and 6-1 overall with a 14-13 overtime victory against conference rival Brockport today.

Junior Annie Tallchief (Perrsburg/Lakeshore) scored her third goal of the game with 14 seconds left in the first overtime period to put the Bengals ahead for good. The two teams were deadlocked at 8-8 after the first half and 11-11 after regulation to send the game into overtime. Sophomore Leslie Perreault (Johnson City/Maine Endwell) led all Bengal scorers with four goals while Chelsey Frail (Hilton/East Rochester) added two goals and an assist to her career numbers. Leah Bernal (East Aurora/Iroquois) and Meagan Powers (Pearl River/Pearl River) each had two goals in the game and junior Nikole Flannery (Tonawanda/Tonawanda) tallied a goal in the win. Freshman goaltender Katie Fels (Williamsville/Williamsville East) made seven saves in net for the Bengals.

Buffalo State will host St. John Fisher tomorrow on Coyer Field for a 4:00 p.m. game.
