Women's Lacrosse Defeats RIT in Opener, 10-4

Three different Bengals tallied three goals apiece today, as Buffalo State won its season opener at RIT, by a 10-4 margin.

Buffalo State scored the first five goals of the game and led 6-1 at the intermission, before cruising to the six-goal victory. Chelsey Frail (East Rochester), Leah Bernal (Iroquois), and Annie Tallchief (Lakeshore) all found the back of the net three times to pace the Bengals. Leslie Perreault (Miane-Endwell) added a goal and two assists, and Katie Fels (Williamsville East) made eight saves in her Buffalo State debut in goal.

The win marked the first-ever victory for Buffalo State over RIT in six attempts. The Bengals outshot the Tigers 29-17.

Buffalo State is 1-0 to open the season for just the second time in school history. The Bengals will open their home schedule this Thursday when they host Elmira at 4 p.m.
