Buffalo State rallied in the second half to defeat Elmira, 11-10, at Corning East High School this afternoon.

The Bengals trailed 6-3 at the half but fought back with a 7-2 run to take a two-goal lead. Elmira would go on to score with 5:15 remaining to pull within one, but the Bengals notched what would be the game winner just a minute later. Elmira was able to find the back of the net in the closing minutes to again bring the game within one but the Bengals’ defense stayed strong to hold off the Soaring Eagles’ last ditch efforts in the final minute.

Chelsey Frail (Hilton/East Rochester) led the scoring for Buffalo State with four goals and one assist while Erin Silky (Liverpool/Liverpool), Annie Tallchief (Perrysburg/Lakeshore) and Tara Ammerman (Naples/Marcus Whitman) recorded a pair of goals apiece. Katie Lyons (Williamsville North/Williamsville North) added one marker for the Bengals.

The Bengals advance to 4-0 and will travel to Fredonia Tuesday, April 12 for a 4 p.m. SUNYAC contest.
