Women’s Lacrosse Erupts in Second Half to Rally Past Randolph-Macon

ASHBURN, Va.--Buffalo State (2-2) overcame a 9-2 halftime deficit, outscoring host Randolph-Macon (2-5) 15-2 in the second half to rally to a 17-11 victory today.

Shantel Ackley (Baldwinsville/ CW Baker) became Buffalo State’s all-time leading goal scorer with four goals, bringing her career total to 95. Katie Henderson (Lakeview/ Hamburg) and Stephanie Georgopoulos (Pt. Jefferson Station/ Comsewogue) also scored four goals each. Katie Lyons (Williamsville/ Williamsville North) netted three goals, and Jennifer Tierney (Massapequa/ Massapequa) and Kelly Nelson (Hamburg/ Frontier) had a goal apiece.

Buffalo State’s second-half rally included an 11-0 run that spanned 12:47. The Bengals outshot Randolph-Macon 28-26 for the game.

Buffalo State will open SUNYAC play at Brockport on Tuesday at 4 p.m.
