GAMBIER, Ohio--Buffalo State (4-3) used a familiar formula to win its second-consecutive one-goal game, defeating host Kenyon (1-3), 14-13, today in a non-conference match-up.

Buffalo State led 8-7 at the intermission and extended its lead to 13-8 early in the second frame. Kenyon mounted a late rally, but time expired with the Bengals clinging to the one-goal advantage.

Sophomore Katie Lyons (Williamsville/Williamsville North), who scored four goals in her rookie season, led the Bengals with four goals today, including the game-winner. Leah Bernal (Marilla/Iroquois) added three goals. Jenn LoPresti (Amherst/Sweet Home) and Meagan Powers (Pearl River/Pearl River) scored two each. Tara Ammerman (Naples/Marcus Whitman), Kristen Lindner (Webster/Webster Thomas) and Chelsey Frail (E. Rochester/E. Rochester) had a goal apiece. Frail's goal moved her into sole possession of the Buffalo State record for goals in a career with 82.

Buffalo State will return to action at home on Wednesday against Allegheny at 4 p.m.
