Women's Lacrosse Remains Perfect With Win at Goucher, 8-5

TOWSON, Md.—Buffalo State (7-0) stalled its way to its seventh-consecutive win to open the season with an 8-5 victory over host Goucher (3-6) today in a non-conference game.

Molly Seifritz (Syracuse/Henninger) and Meagan Powers (Pearl River/Pearl River) and Leah Bernal (Marilla/Iroquois) all scored twice to lead the Bengals. Kristen Lindner (Webster/Webster Thomas) and Joni Hill (Hagersville, ON/Hagersville) also scored for Buffalo State. Katie Rivers (Watertown/Watertown) made 12 saves in goal.

Buffalo State raced out to a 7-3 lead in the opening half, before cruising to the win, despite scoring only once in the second period. Buffalo State emptied its bench and played a possession game over the final 30 minutes, allowing 21 field players to get time in the game. Goucher outshot the Bengals, 27-21

Buffalo State will open its conference schedule at home on Saturday against eight-time defending conference champion Cortland at 1 p.m.
