Women's Lacrosse Rips Medaille, 14-3

BUFFALO, NY--Eight different players scored for Buffalo State (2-3) as the Bengals rolled past visiting Medaille (0-2), 14-3, today in a non-conference game at Coyer Field.

Buffalo State jumped out to a 5-0 lead just over 10 minutes into the game and led 10-1 at the intermission, before cruising in the second half. The Bengals outshot Medaille 23-17.

Katie Lyons (Williamsville/Williamsville North), Tara Ammerman (Naples/Marcus Whitman) and Jenn LoPresti (Amherst/Sweet Home) each had two goals and two assists to lead Buffalo State. Meagan Powers (Pearl River/Pearl River) added three goals, Shantel Ackley (Baldwinsville/CW Baker) had two, and Leah Bernal (Marilla/Iroquois) and Ashley Parker (Watertown/Watertown) had one apiece. Katie Rivers (Watertown/Watertown) made nine saves for the win.

Lisa Aunger (Toronto, ON/Sinclair Secondary) led Medaille with a goal and an assist. Kim Coleman (Syracuse/Corcoran) and Melyssa Tollar (W. Seneca/W. Seneca East) also scored for the Mavericks. Bridget Helak (W. Seneca/St. Mary's) made seven saves in goal.

Buffalo State will travel to Ohio this weekend for a pair of non-league games at the College of Wooster and Kenyon on Saturday and Sunday respectively.
