Women’s Lacrosse Season Ends With Loss to Brockport, 12-10

BUFFALO, NY—Buffalo State (10-5/2-5) surrendered a two-goal lead early in the second half to drop its season finale to Brockport (11-3/6-1), 12-10, today at Coyer Field.

Freshman Stephanie Georgopoulos (Pt. Jefferson Station/Comsewogue) led the Bengals with two goals and one assist, bringing her season total to 48 points and equaling a school record. Senior Meagan Powers (Pearl River/Pearl River) and Shantel Ackley (Baldwinsville/CW Baker) scored two goals each. Katie Henderson (Lakeview/Frontier) added a goal and an assist, and Julia Gefell (Watertown/Watertown), Kember Greco (Southampton/Southampton) and Katie Lyons (Williamsville/Williamsville North) also scored for the Bengals.

Buffalo State built on a 6-5 halftime advantage with the first goal of the second half, but Brockport netted the next six goals and never trailed again. Buffalo State outshot Brockport, 25-23, for the game.
