Women's Lacrosse Trounces Medaille, 16-1

Buffalo State extended its unbeaten streak to three games with a 16-1 home-victory over Medaille today at Coyer Field.

Buffalo State built a 12-0 lead going into halftime of a game that saw nine different Bengals tally goals. Junior Rachael Galus (Hamburg/Frontier) led all scorers with three goals and one assist. Nadya Chomiak (Elma/Iroquois), Chesley Frail (Hilton/East Rochester), Leslie Perreault (Johnson City/Maine Endwell), Raven Szymanek (Williamsville/Williamsville South) and Annie Tallchief (Perrsburg/Lakeshore) each had two goals in the contest. Meagan Powers (Pearl River/Pearl River) scored a goal and an assist, Nikole Flannery (Tonawanda/Tonawanda) and Leah Bernal (E. Aurora/Iroquois) each added a goal to their career totals.

Buffalo State outshot Medaille 25-5, and registered nine more groundballs than the Mavericks. Freshman goaltender Katie Fels (Williamsville/Williamsville East) improved her record to 3-0 on the season with the win.

Buffalo State will look to get their first SUNYAC win of the season when they host Fredonia next Tuesday on Coyer Field for a 4:00 p.m. start.
