Women's Soccer Blasts Medaille in Opener
Buffalo State outshot Medaille 32-1 as it cruised to a 6-0 victory in today's season opener at Coyer Field.
The Bengals tallied five goals in the first half, and added another early in the second stanza. Freshman Missy Balling (Tonawanda/Tonawanda) led the offense with three goals, and junior Gina Monaco recorded two goals and two assists. Sophomore Becky Sommer (N. Tonawanda/N. Tonawanda) added a single goal in the win. Lindsey Mann (Blasdell/Frontier), Tina Semertzides (Wappinger Falls/Roy C. Ketchum), Kelsie Moran (Albany/Albany) and Melisa Petre (Cheektowaga/Cheektowaga) all registered assists.
Buffalo State will travel to the LaRoche Tournament in Pittsburgh, Pa. next, where it will face Juniata on Saturday, and Albright on Sunday.
