Women's Soccer Drops Home Finale to Brockport, 3-0
Buffalo State closed out the home portion of its schedule today with a 3-0 defeat at the hands of SUNYAC-rival Brockport (8-6-1/5-3-1).
The Golden Eagles dictated the action as they held a 30-4 advantage in shots. Megan Bero (Buffalo/Kenmore East) opened the scoring in the 23rd minute with an assist from Laura Sawyer (Kirkville/Chittenango). Ashley Ewen (Rochester/Greece-Athena) extended the lead when she scored with just one second remaining in the opening half. Leanne Gedraitis (West Falls/Holland) closed out the scoring with an unassisted marker in the 78th minute. Brockport's Liz Durfee (Williamson/Williamson) needed to make just one save for the shutout. Jamie Abbott (Pulaski/Pulaski) made seven saves in goal for Buffalo State.
The Bengals fell to 6-9-1 overall and 3-6 in the SUNYAC. Buffalo State will conclude its SUNYAC schedule on Wednesday at Fredonia.
