Women's Soccer Falls to New Paltz
Buffalo State remains winless in SUNYAC play, falling, 2-1, to New Paltz (3-4-1, 1-1) earlier this afternoon.
Missy Balling (Tonawanda/Tonawanda) put the Bengals on the board first, converting a pass by teammate Gina Monaco (Niagara Falls/Niagara Falls), into a goal midway through the first period. Lauren Pastore (Levittown/Division Ave.) answered back for the Hawks in the final minutes, evening out the game. Kerri Kelty (Valley Stream/Valley Stream Central) notched the assist for New Paltz.
Late into the second period, Alsion Fliegel (New Hyde Park/New Hyde Park) beat Buffalo State goaltender Katie Melsert (Burnt Hills/ Burnt Hills-Ballstoon Lake), to clinch the game. Fleigel‘s goal was unassisted.
The Bengals fell to 3-3-1 overall and 0-2 in SUNYAC play. Buffalo State will take to the field on Thursday, Sept. 23 at Penn State Behrend.
