Women’s Soccer Remains Unbeaten With Win Over RIT
Julia Spak (Liverpool/Liverpool) scored two goals to lead visiting Buffalo State (3-0) to a 3-1 victory today at RIT (0-3).
Spak opened the scoring just 1:13 into the game with an assist from Gina Monaco (Niagara Falls/Niagara Falls). After Liz Jacobsen (Gresham,OR/Sam Barlow) extended the Bengals’ lead to 2-0, Spak and Monaco connected again to give the Bengals a 3-0 lead in the second half. Despite being outshot 31-10, Buffalo State held on for the victory. Katie Melsert (Burnt Hills/Burnt Hills-Ballston Spa) made 14 saves in goal for Buffalo State.
Buffalo State will travel to Penn State Altoona on Saturday for a two-game tournament.
