Women's track sprinter Latoya D. Edwards (Brooklyn/ Clara Barton) was named the Buffalo State Athlete of the Week for the second-consecutive week after running a perfect meet at the New York State Championships. Edwards won three individual titles and ran a leg of a championship relay. The sophomore health and wellness major set a pair of individual school records, winning the 200 (25.51) and 500-meter runs (1:19.30). She also won the 55-meter dash with an NCAA provisional qualifying time of 7.26 seconds, and teamed with Katya Marin (Mt. Vernon/ Mt. Vernon), Taniqua Hollingsworth (Buffalo/ East) and Anika Niles (Brooklyn/ Samuel J. Tilden) to win the 4x200-meter relay with a new school and State record time of 1:45.23.
